Wireless Reading Device

“This is the future of book reading. It will be everywhere.” Michael Lewis, author of Moneyball and Liar’s Poker.

This is interesting.  I haven’t heard about it yet but it is called the Kindle and can be purchased on Amazon.com.  You can put papers, books, and other readable items on here.  (Almost like an ipod for you reading.)  There is a video demonstration on the site.  I think it’s a little odd, but then again I thought that about ipods at first.  Maybe in five years we will all carry these around.  Click the link below.  What do you think?

I think I’ll wait to see if it catches on. $359 is a little steep to be gambling on whether or not this is a good thing. It also seems the prices for “books” wolud be more along the lines of a movie rental rather than full printed version price. It might catch on with folks who have time management issues. No time to go to the bookstore, must hit Starbuck’s and the Spa!

Also, as long as there are libraries (which I hope there are forever), we can get our books for free. It just seems like a very frivolous thing to have.
